The most important thing you can do in terms of machinery maintenance is to make a schedule for that maintenance and actually follow it. You should gather information from the manufacturer of your machine as well as your engineering team. Based on that collected information, you can create a master maintenance schedule that lets you know when each specific task needs to be completed. Expect everything from electrical systems to tires to fluids to require regular care.
In addition to following this maintenance schedule, keep detailed records about each inspection and/or repair. This will let you track problems in the long-term and increases your chances of noticing developing issues. You will also be able to look back at the records if an issue arises in the future to see if there were warning signs you may have missed.
